Trezor Hardware Wallet Setup Guide

Step 1: Unboxing and Connection

Carefully unbox your new Trezor device and ensure all contents are present. Use the provided USB cable to connect the Trezor to a reliable computer. The device screen should light up, indicating a successful power connection.

Step 2: Install Trezor Suite

Do not use third-party software. Navigate to the official Trezor website and download the latest version of the Trezor Suite application. This software is essential for managing your device and accessing its features securely.

Step 3: Firmware Update

Once Trezor Suite is installed and launched, it will prompt you to install or update the latest **official firmware**. Follow the on-screen instructions precisely. The process is critical for ensuring the highest level of security for your device.

Step 4: Create a New Wallet

Select the option to **"Create New Wallet."** You will be asked to confirm this action on the Trezor device itself. This initiates the process of generating your unique **Recovery Seed** (24 words).

Step 5: Write Down the Recovery Seed

The Trezor screen will display your 12 or 24-word Recovery Seed. **Write down this seed** on the provided Recovery Seed Card. **DO NOT take photos, save it digitally, or type it anywhere.** This is your *master key*.

Step 6: Set a PIN

You will now be prompted to **set a PIN code**. The layout of the numbers will be shown on the Trezor screen, and you will enter the corresponding numbers using your computer's mouse. This PIN is required to unlock your device for daily use.

Your **Recovery Seed** should be stored securely **offline** in a location only you can access. If your Trezor is lost or damaged, this seed is the *only way* to recover your funds. Never share it with anyone.
